Little Red Wagon
Words and music by Jim Cosgrove (ASCAP)
My-my-my little red wagon, man it moves really fast. Go Red Wagon!
Cruisin' down the sidewalk having a blast. Go Red Wagon!
Yeah it moves, and it grooves. Little Red wagon.
My-my-my little red wagon is the best on the block. Go Red wagon!
It's slick and clean, man it really rocks. Go red wagon!
Yeah it moves, and it grooves. Little Red wagon.
I strap on the helmet and hop inside. Grab ahold of the handle and get ready to fly.
My sister gets a running start and gives me a push. C'mon jump in, but look out for that bush!
My-my-my dog likes to ride in the wagon with me. Go red wagon!
He wiggles and slobbers and barks with glee. Go red wagon!
I'm gonna cruise in this wagon for the rest of my life. Go red wagon!
Well, at least until I'm old enough to drive. Go red wagon!
Yeah it moves, and it grooves! Up and down the avenues!
Yeah it moves, and it grooves, Little red wagon!!!!
Pick Me! Pick Me!
Words and music by Jim Cosgrove (ASCAP)
I wonder if he sees me sitting here. It feels like I've been waiting a year.
I'm being real quiet, just like he said. And my hand is raised right over my head.
I know I can play, sing, and dance. If only he would give me a chance
And I just want to scream…
Pick me, I want to be in the band. Pick me, can't you see my hand.
Pick me, I hope you understand, how much this really means to me,
So, please, Mister, pick me!
I know that I can't just blurt it out. I promised I wouldn't scream or shout.
I've got this feeling I just can't hide. It's hard for me to keep it locked inside.
I want to play a shaker, some sticks, or a drum. With the kids in the band; we'll be having fun.
But won't you please look my way, and pick me…
We had a lot of fun at the Hiccup show. We bopped and sang and screamed for more.
Even mom and dad stood up and danced, like a UFO man with ants in his pants.
Although I never got picked to play, I had such a great time any way. But I'm still gonna sing…
Hi Dee Ho
Words and music by Jim Cosgrove (ASCAP)
There's a place far away where the animals sing, The locals say it's the strangest thing.
Every night about suppertime, You can hear those animals getting in line.
They sing, "Hi dee hi dee ho, (repeat) hi dee hi dee hee (repeat)
They sing, "Hi dee hi dee ho, (repeat) hi dee hi dee hee (repeat)
They sing, "Hi dee hi dee ho," over the mountain.
"Hi dee hi dee hee," right down to the sea.
The first in line are the kangaroos, Hoppin' along in their tennis shoes.
Then come the elephants swinging their trunks, Marching down the trail going "Bumpity bump."
Kittens in mittens are prancing along, While doves in gloves are singing this song.
Bop, Bop soda pop, shooby doo, Buddy Green jelly bean dipety whoo!
Scit scat, kitty cat, Jeni's Jim! Flim flam flammety flim. Flim flam flammety flim
Now down at the water, the animals swim. They put on their suits and they jump right in.
There's a hippo on the high-dive ready to go. He shouts out his warning, "Look out below!"
Sloths and moths are diving for rings, While everyone else continues to sing.
Fancy Pants Dance
Words and music by Jim Cosgrove (ASCAP)
Mamma's washing my dungarees, 'cause I got grass stains on my knees,
Playing in those yonder trees.
Mamma's washing my dungarees, won't you pass the turnips please.
Washing my dungarees.
Marvin wears his knickerbockers when he goes out to play soccer.
Marvin's got his knickers on.
Marvin wears his knickerbockers that he hangs up in his locker.
Marvin's got his knickers on.
I've got pants; you've got pants. We'd call 'em something different if we lived in
France. Come on let's do the Fancy Pants Dance.
During gym class Annie wears bloomers, she wants to play for the Oklahoma Sooners.
Annie's got her bloomers on.
They are poofy to the knees, but they do not make her sneeze.
Annie has her bloomers on.
My dad wears checkered slacks; they are groovy to the max.
My dad wears groovy, checkered slacks.
When he wears those checkered slacks, people always make wise cracks.
My dad wears groovy, checkered slacks.
Peace to the Children
Words and music by Jim Cosgrove (ASCAP)
Peace to the children, peace to the children,
Peace to the children, we sing peace to the children all over the world.
It doesn't matter if you're black or white, it doesn't matter if you read or write.
It doesn't matter if you're green or blue, there's peace out there just waitin' for you.
Peace to the children in Iraq and Iran, North Korea and Afghanistan.
They're not evil, they're like you and me. They dream about peace and harmony.
We're talkin' peace…
Peace to children who are hungry today, who don't have a school or a place to pray.
The future of the world belongs to kids like us; let your voice ring out for truth and justice.
Mary Kate's Birthday Cake
Words and music by Jim Cosgrove (ASCAP)
This is the story of Mary Kate, a naughty girl who met a terrible fate,
On her seventh birthday. Yes, on her seventh birthday.
Now Mary Kate couldn't wait, she had to try her birthday cake.
And she had to try it right now. Oh, she had to eat a little right now.
She ate one, she ate two, she ate three, she ate four, she ate five big pieces of cake.
Yeah, they were pretty big pieces of cake.
Her party guests were on the way, but she didn't care much any way.
All she wanted was cake. Oh, all she could think of was cake.
She ate six, she ate seven, she ate eight, she ate nine, she ate ten little pieces of cake.
Oh, they were only little pieces of cake.
That's a lot for a kid to eat, especially something so sweet.
Even if it tastes yummy, you'd better look out for your tummy!!
She ate eleven, she ate twelve, she ate thirteen, she ate fourteen, she ate fifteen pieces of cake.
She turned green, I mean really green. She looked like a lime-flavored jelly bean.
That was just getting ready to pop. That was just getting ready to POP!
Mary Kate went straight to bed, and left her friends scratching their heads
as they looked at the last piece of cake. There was only one piece of cake.
So they shared one, they shared one, they shared one, they shared one,
They shared one little piece of cake. They each had a bite of cake.
What a wonderful tasting cake. A piece of Mary Kate's birthday cake.
And many more…
Put Down the Binky
Words and music by Jim Cosgrove (ASCAP)
My friend's little brother, he loves to sing and dance.
He runs all around his house, dressed in his diaper pants.
He boogies like Elvis, and he twists like Chubby, but there's one little thing.
With that pacifier in his mouth, I can't understand a word he sings.
You've got to put down the binky, you've got to put down the binky.
You've got to put down the binky, if you want to rock n' roll. (Repeat)
My best friend Stan and I, we've got a rockin' band.
We sit right down on the kitchen floor and we bang on pots and pans
Then in walks his brother and he wants to be a big time rock n' roll man
But we told him if he wants to play, there's just something he's got to understand
If you've got a little brother or a little sis
When that binky's in their mouths, they might sound something like this…
Now we told that little boy that he couldn't play with us.
He started to kick and scream, causing quite a fuss.
When all of a sudden that pacifier fell right on the floor
He stopped crying, looked us, and said "I don't need that gummy any more."
Sammy the Snail
Words and music by Jim Cosgrove (ASCAP)
Gather 'round me children and listen to my tale.
About a slimy outlaw, they call him Sammy the Snail.
He's as mean as you've ever seen, though he stands only one inch tall.
The people in this cowpoke town fear him most of all.
They say he swings a lasso that he wove from a spider's web
He's got a 10-ounce hat made from cockroach hide upon his tiny head.
No one can ever catch him. And they don't know where he lives.
He leaves behind a trail of slime. That's the only clue he gives.
He's the one who empties piggy banks when no one is around.
He'll take the last cookie from the cookie jar without the slightest sound.
Sometimes toys are missing, or they're scattered on the floor!
Surely this is the work of Sammy the Snail, there's a slime trail out the door.
Some say he plays with rattlesnakes and scares the boogers out of cats.
I don't know about you, but I'd steer clear of a crazy dude like that.
So if you're ever out there riding all alone on the dusty trail.
Just listen to the wind, you can hear the song of the outlaw Sammy the Snail.
Monster Trucks
Words & music by Mark Thies (ASCAP)
Well I woke up this morning to a rumbling sound, looked out my window to see.
The people next door they were breaking ground, right in front of me.
Well they had trucks - Monster trucks - they had big huge earth-moving trucks.
I'm talking trucks - Mighty trucks - they had big huge earth-moving trucks.
I could not believe it but before my very eyes
Trucks of every color came and trucks of every size
They rumbled like the thunder as they shook the very ground.
I'd never seen a truck so big or heard such a mighty sound.
So I sat down right on the grass and I watched them go to work.
I never saw a truck so big that could handle so much dirt.
They dug a hole right in the ground that was bigger than a pool.
They made a mountain out of dirt; those big old trucks are cool.
When I see those giant metal wheels turning round,
They trample everything in sight, right into the ground.
The fire breathing dragon of the diesel engines roar.
And I can't walk away right now; I've got to see some more.
If I Were a Dog Words and music by Jim Cosgrove (ASCAP)
If I were a dog, I'd bark all day. I'd bark along in a barky way.
I'd bark right up and I'd curl in your lap and I'd sleep there all night long.
If I were a cat, I'd purr all day. I'd purr along in a purry way.
I'd purr right up and I'd curl in your lap and I'd sleep there all night long.
If I were a snake, I'd slither all day. I'd slither along in a slithery way.
I'd slither right up and I'd curl in your lap and I'd sleep there all night long.
If I were a skunk, I'd stink all day. I'd stink along in a stinky way.
I'd stink right up and I'd curl in your lap and I'd sleep there all night long.
If I were a cow, I'd moo all day. I'd moo along in a mooy way.
I'd moo right up and I'd curl in your lap and I'd sleep there all night long.
If I were a whale, I'd swim all day. I'd swim along in a swimmy way.
I'd swim right up and I'd curl in your lap and I'd sleep there all night long.
If I were a baby I'd goo goo all day. I'd goo goo along in a goo gooey way.
I'd goo goo right up and I'd curl in your lap and I'd sleep there all night long.
So Long!
Words and music by Jim Cosgrove (ASCAP)
I had a great time today. Thanks for coming over to play.
I love to sing my songs, but now it's time to say, "So long."
So lo-on-ong, see you soon!
So lo-on-ong, see you later alligator, after awhile crocodile,
Take care, grizzly bear, see you soon, silly baboon. So long.
Well, I love spending time with you. We have fun whatever we do,
Just talking and laughing, too. It's great to have friends like you. Like you…
Friends like you…
Please come and see me again. If you want, you can bring a friend.
We'll sing and dance the day away, but now it's time to say, to say-ay-ay….it's time to say
Be cool in your swimming pool. See you soon, silly baboon. Stay loose, Canadian goose.
Take care, my juicy pear. Adios, mis amigos. Take it slow, Uncle Joe. Take care, grizzly bear.
Cio, polka-dot cow. After awhile, Gomer Pyle. Bon soir, mon pappa
